Heading South

Thin mist, like smoke,
wreaths around the tall fir-tree,
while overhead, in synchronised single file,
dark against the pale grey sky,
a line of geese heads south.

Sometimes we see that wisp of fog in the most unexpected places. There is such an element of chance in so many stones.

It is too early to head back… winter isn’t over yet! Or is it?

I don’t think they were heading back Jules, just happened to be flying in that direction perhaps in search of water. Hello Alfred, yes this stone just happened as I glanced out of the window and saw it.
