Blue Lake

The field of linseed in full bloom
glimpsed through a gate
looked like a beautiful blue lake,
inviting me to paddle.

Autumn Equinox

Today is the Autumn Equinox.
I celebrate with two quotations about Autumn for you:

“Autumn is a second Spring,
when every leaf is a flower.”

Albert Camus (1913-1960)
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

“There is a harmony in Autumn,
and a lustre in its sky…”

Percy Bysshe Shelley (1792-1822)

Is that the first flower
I see on the Forsythia?
Though Winter may be lingering
it can’t hold back the tide of Spring.

Given Up For Dead

A plant that I had given up for dead
has reappeared in flower amongst the weeds.
I wish I could remember what it’s called.

Eye Catching

Sometimes your mind
is so filled with other things
the beauty of a small blue flower
almost fails to catch your eye.
