Hints

Snowdrop buds appear,
hints of beauty yet to come.
Winter darkness fades.

Over

Summer’s over,
evenings cooler,
darkness earlier,
soon be Winter!

Change

October,
month of maximum change
as mornings and evenings
dim to darkness.

Springtime

Cold
Winter retreats.
Through the darkness
new growth bursts announcing
Spring.

New
yellow buds,
heralds of Spring.
Blazing trumpets sound unheard.
Daffodils.

A big thank you to Jules who blogs here for introducing me to this form. I have some way to go yet to emulate her wonderful Elfje poems.

A New Day

A new day dawns without you,
darkness eased by silvered golden sun.
A spider weaves a web across my window,
but you are gone.
