Rainbow

Dark grey clouds
shot through with a rainbow.
Gone in the blink of an eye.
Fleetingly magical.

Overhead

Grey,
rushing overhead,
in a hurry
to be somewhere else;
clouds.

Clouds

A bright winter's day.
White clouds sweep briskly across
cold azure blue sky.

Redbreast

A lull in the showers,
through the dark clouds the sun peeps
and at the bird feeder
a robin redbreast.

Nowhere

Fluffy white clouds hasten
on their way across blue sky,
going nowhere in particular.

Clouds

Alizarin
crimson clouds
absorb the last
rays of day’s weak
sunshine.

Dazzling

Here comes the sun,
sparkling in the puddles,
dazzling my eyes,
until the clouds return.

Brendan

Grey clouds race northwards.
Trees wave as they hurry by,
fleeing ahead of storm Brendan
following in hot pursuit.

Brendan is the name given by the Irish Met. Office to the storm forecast to batter the UK today.

Teasing

Sunshine and blue skies
teasing
between dark clouds
bringing
heavy showers of rain.

The Sun

The sun turns her face
behind grey clouds and weeps
to see the daffodils fade away.

White cherry blossom pom-poms
waving in the breeze call
her back to smile again.
