Cycling in sunshine
on a balmy March morning,
listening to bird song.

Blow Wind, Blow

Blow wind, blow,
blow the clouds along,
sweep away the rain showers,
bring sunshine and birdsong.

Blue Skies

Blue skies and birdsong,
red tulips drinking sunshine,
wind chimes on the breeze.

Rearguard Action

Winter fights a rearguard action,
driving back the warmth of Spring.
Cool air casts a cloud-filled shadow,
but hope is in the song birds sing.

On the apex of ny neighbour’s roof
a proud thrush puffs out his chest
and sings his evensong.
