Back to Bed

Sand paper lining my throat,
nothing but mush in my head.
I’m sorry, I just can’t cope any more,
I’m going back to bed!

Decadent

Knitting in bed?
How decadent
and surprisingly difficult!

I often read in bed for a short while in the morning while drinking coffee however I finished my latest book yesterday and didn’t want to start another straight away, so I decided to do some knitting instead but I actually found it quite awkward.

Back to Bed

My head is stuffed with cotton wool,
my chest is sore, my nose is red,
my eyes are heavy, drooping lids;
I’m going back to bed.

Cosy Blanket

Snow-covered car

Wrapped in a cosy blanket of snow
my little car is not going anywhere.
All her usual outings cancelled,
she stays tucked up in bed.

Early Morning

Lying in bed, it’s early morning,
thinking of all I need to do,
watching you sleeping.

Put to Bed

At last my magazine is finished,
it’s been put to bed as they say.
I’ll drop it off at the printers
later on today.

I’m off to an old pals reunion for the weekend and will not be on-line so am scheduling some quotes to fill the gap until Monday. I will catch up with you all on my return.
