We have some areas like that too…
Unfortunately our yard has a water easement to one side and the creek at the bottom… Thankfully in all the time we’ve been here the water hasn’t come up to the house! The other side of the creek is also a sort of flood plain.

We’ve just had our field ditches dug out again – it’s amazing how much water is flowing. We are not near too near the river in question and fortunately in no danger of flooding.

That is good. We’ve had quite a bit of rain, but slow and steady so no flooding here either.
