Strong winds have all but stripped
the leaves from the cherry tree.
Like the fledgling pigeon
they have now flown free,
and I am left feeling bereft
like the bare branches of the tree.
Bereft

We need to make due with the light we have.
Spring will return, though winter is in between.

Actually I like winter, I find it a good time to take stock and to look forward with positivity! I shall miss watching the little pigeon though, but glad he was grown enough to fly before the wind took all the leaves. I wonder if they will nest there again next year.

I had robins nesting in our hedge row for several years. But I didn’t see them there this year. Unfortunately we have some ‘free range’ cats and the birds might have thought that just three feet off the ground wasn’t safe enough.

Rest as the tree does and spring will smile in you both next year.

The wheel of the year, each season has its positives. I welcome winter, love the freshness in the air and the cosiness indoors, while looking forward to the new birth of Spring, but I also love the colours of Autumn and it is sad to see them go. 🙂
