Is It Time?

Gentle snowdrops raise their heads
to peep through frost-rimed grass,
petals tightly furled for warmth.
“Is it time?” they ask.

How can it be time for spring in January?
Yet I too have blooms on my forsythia – but then my forsythia bloom whenever they want. I’ve seen them bloom in practically every month of the year if the temp is right 🙂

Our neighbour’s forsythia, which grows through the fence between us is also in flower but mine isn’t yet! I have also seen daffodils with well formed buds in a sunny but sheltered spot when out on the bike. Season are topsy-turvy.
