Reluctant rainfall
has in part re-greened the lawn.
Subtle changes herald fading summer.
The drought continues, moorland burns.

    Yes, we have had similar weather. Though at least one of the forest fires was purposely set.
    But I did read in the good news section about a home that survives along with a pet…You can find a verse I wrote about it here:

      So many wildfires are deliberately or accidentally set – so sad when it causes so much destruction, to say nothing of the financial cost of dealing with it all. We have been having a bit more rain but whether it is enough to say the drought is over or is enough to put the fires out, remains to be seen! Will check out your verse. 🙂

    It’s a pity some people don’t have the sense they were born with. I believe Winter Hill is still burning a metre below ground.
