Whisperings

White spots on the lawn
show where snowdrops
will soon bloom.
Whisperings of Spring.

Only yesterday I saw my first snowdrops for this year. I wish I had their silent strength.

Beautiful optimistic poem! I love snowdrops, they are the first sign for me, that we are on the up! 😊

We’ve got awhile to go before spring… Maybe late March or April.
Though with some of the warmer days the trees did bud.
I was watching the squirrels this cold morning eat the silver maple buds.
Those buds were too cold and would have not developed anyway.
Most trees, if I remember have the ability to bud several times.
Fruit trees can too, but only the first budding will produce fruit.
So if there is a freeze and they loose their fruit, they will bud again and still live, but no fruit that year.
