This Elfje also appears today on my other blog, Simply Elfje.

While I shall try to continue with this blog regularly please forgive me if I miss the odd day. Writing may take a bit of a back seat over the next few months and much of what I write may be about weaving.

I have committed myself to taking part in a Woven Tapestry exhibition, with 5 other weavers, from the end of May to early July next year. This is a major step for me as I am relatively new to weaving. The others are all much more experienced and thankfully, very friendly and helpful. The upshot it that I have only a few months to produce a fair body of work and shall be weaving on all three of my looms almost simultaneously!

I have just finished a project on my big floor loom, with more planned, but now I need to dismantle it to move it from the bedroom it is in at the moment into our new conservatory/day-room which will be my studio! I am nearly ready to start on the frame loom pictured above. My smaller, more portable frame loom will also be pressed into service as it is easy to take with me if we go away and pieces worked on it can be done fairly quickly. If only I could work all the projects as quickly as I can plan them! I shall no doubt update you on progress from time to time.

Hopefully Simply Elfje I hope will not be affected as much of it is submissions from other writers – please note that I am currently open to submissions and details of how to submit can be found on the blog which you can access via the link above.

Continued success on your endeavor – I only have ever done small simple weaving. But I knew a gal who worked for a museum and had a home filled with large looms in most of her homes rooms! Looking forward to your updates – when ever you are able to post them. Again – Good Luck!

Weaving is something I’d love to learn. Good luck, Libby. I’m looking forward to your updates and seeing what you weave with words as well as your looms.

What a wonderful gift to have. I admire anyone that can handle a loom. They produce such beauty.

Thanks Renee, so they do, but not me yet! The basic techniques are very simple. I have yet to tackle anything really complex! Simple can be effective too. I find it very theraputic.
