Gargoyle

On the apex of my neighbour’s roof
a pigeon sits unmoving,
surveying the garden like a gargoyle.

    I enjoy looking at old architecture and the gargoyles that sometimes act as the finials on the corners of buildings and some of the mouths are actually the water spouts.
