Sweeping

Sweeping up leaves today
gets me out-of-doors,
yet I know it is a thankless task —
strong winds are forecast
and will blow down plenty more!

In some of the neighborhoods here we have leaf pick up – a huge vacuum type truck as long as we get our leaves to the curb. Yet those homes on semi-major highways – still get their leaves picked up but they have to bag them in large compost paper bags. Only larger properties are allowed to burn leaves. All of the picked up leaves go to a larger compost area.

Try not to work too hard 🙂

How organised. Here we have to deal with our own – no vacuum trucks here, we can burn them, compost them or put them in a ‘brown bin’ for collection much like yours, or simple leave them to rot. I compost some, leave some as mulch, but bin most which are then composted by the authorities.
