Memory 8

A visit to my old college.
I recall swimming fully clothed
across the lake during Rag Week!

The visit was a few weeks ago. The college is no more, the old mansion building is now posh apartments, the other buildings are gone and a new housing estate occupies much of the grounds. The lake was not very big, more like a very large pond. When does a pond become a lake? It was probably on that cusp!

at least you were fully clothed!!! I think a pond becomes a lake when you can only just see the other side…

When hubby and I went back last year to New Jersey we tried to visit our old college campuses – not much was recognizable. That they say is progress.

My father always used to say “Never go back.” It is nice to revisit but sometimes it changes beyond recongnition and that can be sad.
