The satisfying ‘plop’ of the air-lock
marks the fermentation of the home-made wine,
the clock tick-tocks and outside I hear
the whine and hum of traffic;
comforting in the silence.

    Though I was never able to taste it, I had a grandfather who made dandelion wine. Enjoy your brew!

    I’d forgotten the plop of the fermentation airlock, though I think we still have the wherewithal for homemade wine in our loft we have long abandoned the idea for the proper stuff – apart from five gallons of elderberry it always tasted dreadful

      We have only recently started again – it’s so much cheaper! Mostly from kits though, not messing about with real ingredients! Usually it makes a very acceptable wine.
