Lest We Forget

With proud thanksgiving, a mother for her children,
England mourns for her dead across the sea.
Flesh of her flesh they were, spirit of her spirit,
Fallen in the cause of the free.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

This is the first verse from ‘For the Fallen’ by Laurence Binyon, the poem from which comes the more familiar 4th verse – ‘They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old……’

    It was a rare thing back then, but our headline in the paper was about two women who served in WWll. Many thanks and blessings to all who served and are serving still…
